Album Notes

Patrick Cornelius, saxophonist and leader, was raised in San Antonio, TX. He began studying the piano at the age of 5, and gravitated towards the saxophone as a teenager. While attending Marshall High school, he earned numerous awards for his musicianship and academic achievement, including scholarships from Downbeat Magazine and The National Merit Corporation. Patrick enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied with George Garzone, Hal Crook, Shannon LeClaire, and Greg Hopkins. While at Berklee, he was awarded the Billboard Magazine Endowed Scholarship, one of the college's most prestigious honors. In 1999, Patrick was selected to attend The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, where he studied and performed with Jimmy Heath, Clark Terry, and Robert Hurst. Patrick is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Jazz Studies at the Manhattan School of Music, and can be heard performing extensively throughout the greater New York, New Jersey, and Long Island area.
