Recently compared to Damien Rice and Ockerville River, Patrick's debut album will build on his extensive discography. Some years ago, while residing in London, he released two EP’s through UK independent Applejuice Recordings and last year his first local release, the EP Vanishing Cream. Patrick spent the majority of 2005 playing acoustically in singer/songwriter mode around Sydney and Melbourne while also sharing guitar duties for Sydney act Montana. His co-writer on most of the new material is ex Mr Blonde Ken Stewart who has added a commercial pop sensibiliy to the tunes. The album also features some brilliant musicianship from Pat, Ken, Paul Scott (Montana), Jarrod Bayliss (Cats & Cirque Du Solieu), string players from the Sydney Con and Rikki Arnott on backups.

Inspired, well crafted, melodic tunes reminiscent of Paul Kelly and Ben Harper.

This is a warm and inviting record that will see you humming along as you drive up the coast for summer. It has a classic English folk feel rubbing up against a more 'surf' roots flavour which probably represents Carr's musical background in the UK and subsequently Bondi Beach. 'You and Me' offers inspired songwriting and well crafted musicianship with lush instrumentation complimenting the more stripped back semi acoustic performances. Lyrically reminiscent of Australian icon Paul Kelly in its references to precious moments in time, from the simplicity of 'Centennial Park' and 'Fish n Chips' to the anti-war protest of 'Kill or be Killed'. 'Fell from the Stars' is pure pop whimsy while tracks like 'Happy Sad' and 'Bottle' encapsulate the human condition nicely. The other beauty of this record is that it is a grower and repeated listens will have you yearning for more. Patrick Carr has delivered a sleeping beauty that begs for wider attention on the heels of similar artists like Ben Harper and Jack Johnson.
