Album Notes

In the tradition of great Contemporary Guitar Instrumental Music, Pat Thomi's debut release, "Night Of The Coral", is something to take note of. the album is a collection of original compositions, inCo-produced with veteran keyboard player Joe Vannelli, a progressive contemporary style, that is both eclectic and incredibly visual. The project, Pat says, began during his time working with Joe's brother, Artist, Gino Vannelli, but it was Joe's composition, "Out Of The Blue", that added the final touch to the project.

Unlike some of Pat Thomi's contemporaries, Steve Vai And Joe Satriani, who show us their extraordinary playing dexterity, Pat shows us technique, but also, his emotional and dramatic visual style of music. From the sensitive and poignant "Sisters", to the magical "Nine Lives", and lastly, the album's magnetic title piece, "Night Of The Coral", Pat's entrancing musical and playing style are the things that great composers are made of.

The album also credits and all star lineup of L.A. session greats Enzo Todesco on Drums, Tollak Ollestad on Chromatic Harmonica, Jimmy Haslip and Charles Frichtel on Bass, as well as Joe Vannelli, and Rich Ruttenberg on Keyboards. Look for this contemporary musician to make his mark in the near future.
