Album Notes

Snow is My Downfall was actually written 5 years ago by Patti Rothberg and performed live at Glen Burtnick's holiday show at the Bottom Line, NYC with keyboardist Tom Brislin (of "Spiraling"). Tom and Patti agreed to record this frosty gem right afterwards, but tours with Yes and Meatloaf kept Tom out of reach, and Patti was busy recording her full length CD, Candelabra Cadabra (also available on CD baby). Although Tom makes many star appearances on the CD, the SNOW EP seemed destined to be put on the back burner. (5 months before the holidays each year Patti tried and tried again but missed the deadline, and couldn't locate Tom in time. Finally, here it is! Wouldn't you like to hear it finally!?

The first time I heard Patti's debut CD, "Between the 1 and the 9", I was BLOWN AWAY! I was ADDICTED to that CD. Her next full length CD "Candleabracadabra" was equally as good, and explored new teritories in musical experimentation. It's so nice to see that Patti continues to make some GREAT music. I agree though, it's just too bad it isn't longer. We need MORE Patti.... more More MORE!!!

Terrific EP from one of Rock's Top Talents

Three songs, all terrific. In particular "Someone I Love" is a nice laid-back composition in the spirit of "Wry It Girl", and "Snow Is My Downfall" is an upbeat, catchy tune that would have easily been at home on either of her full-length albums. All three songs are worth coming back to again and again. Only reason for four stars instead of five is its brevity. Still, a must-have.
