Some of her other female heroes are Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and Debbie Davies. She formed The Patty Tuite Band in 1999, which has played throughout the region gaining fans at clubs, functions, and summer concert festivals. The band competed in the finals of the Connecticut Blues Society’s “Blues Challenge” in 2001 and 2005. Due to their showing at the CTBS statewide competitions, two of Patty’s originals have been included on the CTBS compilation CDs, “Local Flavor” (2003) and “Blue State Blues” (2007). In 2007, Patty was a judge for the CT Blues Challenge and formed her current band, Patty Tuite & the Boilermakers. The band plays a diverse repertoire of blues, swing, jazz and classic rock ‘n’ roll, as well as their popular originals, having fun.
