NEVER TOO LATE?

Debut original CD, “Renewed”, has just been released by Paula Chafetz Snyder of Raleigh, NC. Appropriately named, it contains both earlier & more recently penned original songs, presented in a variety of styles. With new - yet old/wise ideas, both contemporary and nostalgic issues to express, find some gritty blues, mellow jazz, a folksy lullaby, thoughtful musical poetry, a song with Latin flavor, and a few jagged edges of rock & roll. Top that off with some contemporary ballads and there is a little something for everyone! “I’ve been told I’m a vocal chameleon” indicates Ms. Snyder. “Renewed” interweaves common threads of blues & jazz, though each song has its own unique character. The musical arrangements are meant to enhance the vocals, highlighting lyric expression.

A new motivational theme emerges from the final song on the CD -- “Never Too Late”, where Paula energetically expresses a dream anguished by the frustrations of everyday limitations, yet still exuding excitement about the possibilities of returning to a music career while balancing love & remarriage at this time in her life.

Born in Detroit, MI, Paula experienced a variety of music styles in her earlier years, ranging from ethnic music, to nostalgia & show tunes, and contemporary bands of the day. She was introduced to blues & jazz during her college years. Paula performed folk & pop music as a soloist, top-40 & oldies dance music in a duet, later returning to nostalgia & show tunes as a soloist again in more recent years. Her writing has similarly spanned styles from folk to adult contemporary pop, jazz & blues, country-rock, additionally including some child-friendly material. Always a strong vocalist, her instrumentation stayed in the background, allowing the audience to hear the lyrics, and connect with the emotions of any given song presented. “Renewed” remains true to this approach and Paula’s voice, though experienced, sounds ageless.

“Renewed” was recorded at Studio 415 in Clayton, NC.

At times you may hear and love a song on the radio and wish to purchase it. Often the song is on a CD which you must buy if you want a particular song. By purchasing "Renewed" by the vocal and musical artist, Paula C. Snyder, one is more than pleasantly surprised. I was elated by the medley of original songs and music. The CD presents a wide range of human emotions, such as, personal strength, romantic love, past relationships, sensitivity toward a child, and more, all successfully accomplished with catchy melodies in a wide range of tempo and mood. I can imagine Tina Turner dynamically singing "Burn Down." In all it is a lovely and worthy CD which will grace any collection. A definite buy. It has given me hours of enjoyable listening. The more I listen to it, the more I love it. Louis Martin Music Lover

Great Job, Paula! You sound great with the wonderful guest performers backing you. I think my favorites are "Michael, Can You Hear Me?" ... and "Child of Lil's". Some of the songs sound like they need a Broadway Musical Comedy to put them into context! K Strickler

  • I Can Relate!

I just listened to your CD. It was wonderful. I could relate to a lot of the music because we've all been up & down the road of love and your songs expressed some of my experiences. I thought the songs were very beautiful. You have a beautiful voice with a quality about it that you don't hear in most female ballad singers. Some of the songs made me feel mellow & some made me want to get out on the dance floor & dance a little bit! C Webb

Soulful and alive, Snyder has 'renewed' jazz and rock with her vibrant personal style. From "Never Too Late", which gets you out of your chair and onto the dance floor to celebrate the persistency of your dreams to the smooth "Old 30's Blues", Snyder demonstrates her vocal capacity with joy you can hear right in the vocals.
