Paul Adams music is quite varied. He has been a maker of stringed instruments for many great musicians (Daryl Hall, members of Stevie Wonder etc.), A producer for Ray Charles arranger David Hoffman, a poet and writer, and now he releases his sixth CD, THIS CHRISTMAS.

Although his albums range from World, Jazz, New Age, and Electronic, THIS CHRISTMAS showcases his acoustic side. The purpose of the project was to create an "acoustic ambience" gentle in mood utilizing Guitars, Mandolin, Dulcimer, and Native American Flute. With a nod of similarity to his critically acclaimed album A VIEW FROM THE PLAIN, Adams paints a drifting and warm Holiday Vision that will burn in the hearth of Christmas fires for many years to come.

"One the most important New Age personalities to come along in years."
SAN JOSE, California METRO NEWS

"A master of mood and melody who thankfully avoids the cliche's of others in this idiom".

If you're looking for a quiet Christmas album for hushed nights by the tree, pondering the meaning of the season with a glass of wine, reflecting on the year gone by, this is a classy acoustic holiday record that weaves the folk voices of dulcimer, guitar, mandolin and even a touch of Native American flute. Simple and haunting, this album makes for the perfect background seasonal music for both individual introspection and relaxation as well as noninvasive, mellow music for parties and socializing. After you've slowed down from the rush rush of the mall and the bumper to bumper traffic in the streets, this is the ideal way to kick off your shoes and remember the more humble, human side of Christmas.

  • A great and beautiful mood for Christmas

I've loved Adams album A VIEW FROM THE PLAIN because of the way he uses acoustic instruments to paint an ambient color of beauty. He definately uses theses instruments in a unique way. THIS CHRISTMAS is similar to A VIEW... Beautiful, etherial, yet funky and folky in a way. Great playing and arrangements. It's so easy to make a Christmas album sound empty. This isn't something you find on the racks at Wal Mart.
