"I'm fascinated by the way the meaning of a word can be altered by the thought I hold when I sing it." paula mcmath, singer songwriter, announces the release of her 3rd CD trust the sky.

"I grew up in a small town in Southern Ontario - feeling small but walking for miles with big dreams in my head. I grew up listening to Detroit rock radio while soaking up my Dad's preferred music, Dylan and Leonard Cohen. Hearing what Joni Mitchell and Patty Griffin can do with a song has rounded out the top end of my musical influences."

"What will serve the song?" I approached the songs on trust the sky with the ears of a minimalist.
Ian Hattwick produced the CD and co-wrote some of the songs. We kept asking ourselves, "What does this song need to make it live?" And that's what we did to create an identity of each song.

paula mcmath's music has been placed in various TV and film projects over the past few years. She's represented by Rescue Records / Five Alarm Music in Pasadena for such licensing. Her music is soon available on itunes. She performs mostly in Southern Ontario and Southern California - her past and current homes.
