This 24-year-old New York City native has been writing and performing music since he was in the second grade. Drawing influences from singer/songwriters, rock bands, and pop icons, Paul Canetti’s music sounds like nothing else you’ve heard, and yet you will feel comfortable with it from the first note. It’s too pop to be rock, too singer/songwriter to be pop, and too rock to be singer/songwriter. It’s a hybrid genre that just can’t be denied.

Having formal training in classical piano and music theory, Paul taught himself a variety of other instruments, finding the guitar to be the one that suited him best. Playing in various bands and directing an a cappella singing group in college gave way to a wide variety of influences that has ultimately shaped Paul’s musical style.

Paul performed all the vocals, guitars, bass, piano, drums, and every other sound you hear on his self-produced debut album ‘Cycles’. The ever-expanding layers of instruments and vocals create a texture full of energy and intricacy, while still being catchy and memorable.

With the release of ‘Cycles’ Paul has been pleasantly encouraged by the positive reaction online at MySpace and Facebook, and with sales on iTunes, Best Buy, AwareStore, CD Baby, and more.

As comfortable on stage as in the studio, Paul is at his best in front of an audience. Performing with a backing band or solo, he is able to draw the audience in from the first words to leave his lips. There is a raw energy that has kept people coming back again and again over the years.
