notes
Born in Southern California, Paul at an early age was touched by music. His parents met while touring across the U.S with the Tommy Dorsey Band in the 50’s.
After years of playing live , his parents settled in Los Angeles, where his dad quickly found work as a studio musician, while mom decided to focus on her family.
Paul started to play piano at an early age, then drums which reflected his high
energy as a teenager, then back to his first love, piano. After years of musical
hiatus, Paul decided to write songs again after seeing his dad record his first
Jazz CD at Capitol Records. This was all the motivation Paul needed. Seeing how
much his dad enjoyed his recording experience, Paul hooked up with Barry Fasman
to record and produce his first album: Postcards From California.
This CD is filled with music rooted in the 60's and the 70's with influences from
such musical groups as the Beach Boys, the Byrds, the Monkees and other successful bands from California. The road ahead is clear for Paul: make California Music a popular style, once again.

These songs are infectious! They put you in a good mood - and keep you there!!!
author: AnthonyPost Cards From California, the first CD release from singer/songwriter Paul Cipriano is a collection of snappy upbeat songs with a few slower songs mixed in for variety. The first thing you will notice about the songs is that you can understand all of the words. You don't find yourself asking, "Now what did he just say?" With the exception of the last song, all of the songs tell a story about relationships in a fun creative way. The sound quality of the disc is excellent and production is top-notch. Highlights of the disc include "Out of Here" which features a rockin' sax solo from seasoned L.A. studio musician Gary Herbig. With its' Johnny Rivers Secret Agent Man feel, this song will surely make you want to get up and dance! "I Want to Know" grabs you from the very beginning and doesn't let go. This song has "HIT" written all over it! The spicy "Take Me to Your Fantasy" features John Fumos' trumpet and has a Latin flavor which transports the listener to a tropical paradise. Another clear winner is the emotional "One Foot in Front of the Other". On this track, Paul shares the spotlight with his sister, Genie Bell. Their father, Gene, provides the melodic flute solos for this 6 1/2 minute journey into the life of a young man struggling to find himself. "The Love I Feel" demonstrates just how versitile Paul can be in his songwriting abilities. This song has a different feel to it compared to all the others. The lyrics, combined with tempo and chord changes all come together to make this song superb. But what really makes this song shine is the haunting sound of Gene Ciprianos' oboe. A truly sensational composition! In a day when rap and hip-hop seem to dominate the airwaves, it's refreshing to hear something that you can actually sing along with. No swear words here - just fun, honest, feel-good music. You owe it to yourself to order a copy of "Post Cards From California". If you're having a bad day and things aren't going your way, just pop the disc into your CD player. It will put you in a good mood - GUARANTEED!!!
