ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Led by "one of the finest pianists in the North East" the Paul Edis Sextet has been described as "one of the most accomplished bands to emerge in recent years". With a front line of Graham Hardy on trumpet, Graeme Wilson on sax and Chris Hibbard on trombone, it has the look of a classic hard bop band, and it certainly has the drive and energy of a Horace Silver or Art Blakey ensemble, but Paul’s imaginative arrangements of jazz standards, and a growing book of original compositions, make sure that there’s also a distinctly contemporary feel. If this is music that has its roots in the 1960s, its blossoms are absolutely of today!

There Will Be Time is the début album from the Paul Edis Sextet. Rooted in the jazz tradition, the music is inspired by a multitude of influences, including Blues, New Orleans, Funk, Folk, Classical and more besides!

Here are some testimonials about Paul and the Band...

"Thank you for accompanying Greg so well last night. He has telephoned me this morning and told me that yours was one of the best trios he has had backing him in UK this summer. He hopes to be able to play with you again". Greg Abate UK agent

"You have a nice touch on the piano and some tasty voicings! Yum!"
Iain Ballamy
