Album Notes

The diversity that is Paul Filek extends itself far beyond his Canadian Idol
debut. Never to miss an opportunity to play his music live, this hardworking
and passionate 26 year-old musician has proven himself as more than just
another pretty face with fantastic hair products. In the past five years,
Paul Filek has marked his place on the map of up-and-coming stars and has
only just begun to break the surface of talent that lies within.



Paul began writing songs much the same way all great rockstars do: as a joke
at a party. This joke quickly turned into a passion realized and there was
no stopping Paul from this point on. True to his night-owl tendencies, Paul
found himself creating songs into all hours of the early morning. His guitar
has led the way and although his roommates have paid the price, these late
night sessions have produced two critically acclaimed albums: Honest Songs
from a Dishonest Heart and his sophomore effort Good to Meet You. Both
albums deliver his soulful voice and creative lyrics speaking of truth, love
and life. His songs speak to us. "Two of Us" leaves us reminiscing about our
friend that lost his way: "come back and leave the past behind." "One Love"
has all of us swooning, while "Make Everything Right" has all of us
remembering the one that got away.



Paul is a born performer. A self-proclaimed addict to the high of the live
performance, Paul's audiences are guaranteed a great show the minute he
takes the stage. Once performing, Paul's voice transcends and his songs are
delivered from a place of passion and unquestionable authenticity. Not to
mention his wicked sense of humour! Paul is the accessible rockstar - the
guy everyone wants to be friends with who has a witty charm, good looks and
a great personality to boot.



A proud native of Kamloops, BC Canada, Paul is now making his mark on the
Vancouver music scene. Paul says his fans across the world keep him inspired
and driven. The youngest of 6 boys, Paul loves his family and friends and is
humbled and inspired by their ongoing encouragement to pursue his dream of
playing for millions of people one day. Paul also attributes his successes
to key players such as producer Henry Small (Prism, The Guess Who,
Entwistle) and many other collaborative members.



Paul is influenced by some of the greats: The Beatles, Michael Jackson and
Coldplay to name a few. To summarize Paul's sound into a hybrid of popular
musicians would be a disservice - you simply must see him live to understand
the passion and raw authenticity that this young musician has to offer. We've
only just seen the beginning of this rising star, and we can't wait to see
what's next.
