Album Notes

Pauli Carman and "Champaign" have been a platinum success since their first release "How 'bout Us" the title track from their first album.
"How 'bout Us" went on to become number 1 on all charts all over the world according to Billboard Magazine, Pop Charts, Soul Charts and Easy Listening. As testament to the bands multi-format appeal, earning platinum and gold disc certification in the U.S. and around the world with such follow-up hits as "Try Again" from the "Modern Heart" album and "Off and On Love" from the "Woman In Flames" album .. to Pauli's solo hits "In The Heat of The Night", and "Dial My Number".
As lead vocalist for the group "Champaign" Pauli Carman toured the world. As a solo artist, Carman toured Asia extensively for 2 years, while appearing on a weekly variety show in the Philippines called "Sabado" singing "Champaign" hits.
Pauli returned to the U.S. in 2000 and began working in the field of education with (children with behavior disorders), and (adults with developmental disabilities). "I believe in giving back to the community whether it's giving back to the city, country or the WOrld", Carman said. Karma is what you give ... is what you get back. It's all about "Carma".
Carman recently was invited to perform at the famed Apollo Theater with the Ray Chew orchestra, performing "How 'bout Us". As a tribute to Hal Jackson (the first AfricanAmerican radio personality of note) who turned 93 and worked for WBLS in N.Y. Mr. Jackson was very instrumental in breaking the song "How 'bout Us" in the U.S. after the record was released.
Pauli Carman and "Champaign" are back!!! Classy and funky as ever with the new release "Carma". Love songs are forever and Pauli Carman is still feeding the fire with the Classy and Sexy "Stay with Me Tonight" and the romantic, lush rendition of the lennon/McCartney "And I Love Her" to the funky, dance sound of "If You Wanna Be" ... Pauli and "Champaign" still guarantee a fun experience with the old school acapella sound of "Neighborhood Cats" and the new sound funk of "Don't Tell Mama".
"Champaign" is a distinctive sound that emerges as a soulful blend of melodic catchiness, rhythmic power, inventive arrangements, and the impassioned vocals of Pauli Carman, a seasoned veteran in every sense of the word. "Carma" brings an eclectic listening experience for music lovers and fans of all ages around the world. "It's all about Carma".
