Album Notes

ORIGAMI by Paul Serrato& Co. is a mix of world rhythm, flowing melodies, piano blues and just plain straight ahead, swingin'playin'. Two vocals, one by Paul and another by L.D. Frazier, are included to top things off even more. With one notable exception, a version of Miles Davis's Solar, the music is original by Paul. In addition to Paul on piano, the New York musicians include Bryce Sebastien (bass), familiar to fans for his unique, innovative playing on other Paul Serrato & Co. releases; on congas, Henry Morales, also an ongoing member of the ensemble. New on this record are Reggie Pittman (trumpet) and Kevin Twigg (drums). L.D. Frazier is one of our most popular and emminent gospel and jazz singers. Together, Serrato leads these musicians, with their diverse experience, into a synthesis of their creativity. The outcome is musical solidarity- a contemporary jazz statement.
