Paul originally wrote Venetian Suite whilst at the Venice Film Festival in 2007 as a commission for a film called Venetian Heat which sadly has still not seen the light of day. The Love Theme is the culmination of the themes of love and self-sacrifice which run through the film. The final version of the Love Theme was refined on the terrace piano at the world-famous Hotel Cipriani. Paul has been playing the piano since the age of 4 and his compositional style owes much to Rachmaninov but also Michel Legrand.
