REVIEWS

Pauseland

I love this band! How about a US tour? Too many jazzers overplay to show off their chops and seem to forget about making music. Pauseland makes music. Their judgement suggests a musical wisdom seldom found in such young players. They aren't afraid to underplay if that's what the piece needs, in the spirit of "Kind of Blue", the Miles Davis classic. Some cuts sound like the Stanko-Garberek pairings on Manu Katche's "Neighbourhood". This is good stuff that speaks to your soul with quiet eloquence. Make more.

These guys must be joined at the hip the way they blend their melodies. Very nice and the addition of a drummer gives it just bit of lift to keep it from beening sleepy.

A wonderful blending of horns in gentle, but continuously interesting music. A nice discovery.
