Album Notes

What WE say:-

Centred around singer-songwriter James Hibbins' melodic vocals & spartan acoustic guitar, they make full use of the textures & dynamics offered by their instrumental mix & combined gigging experience of over 1000 concerts from Melbourne to Edinburgh! Darren's keyboards provide intelligent melodic counterpoint, Nick's bass playing has been described as 'impossibly elastic' & Ken provides subtle rhythmic underpinning.

While firmly in the modern minstrel/folk singer-songwriter genre, influences vary from traditional British, Irish & American folk through to Jazz, Blues, World Music & even Zappa. They have appeared both as a headline act & in support to folk luminaries Steve Ashley, Dick Gaughan, Clive Gregson & Leon Rossleson.

James & Nick played together in the band Nexus, Darren is a veteran of numerous folk-rock bands including Blyth Power and The Wickermen & Ken has played alongside legendary fiddler Tommy Peoples & Irish banjo virtuoso Gerry O'Conner.

What THEY say:-

'I get to hear a lot of bands on my travels: every so often, one really stands out. Pavlov's Cat stood out: they play well, sing well and write very good songs. Highly recommended!'
- Clive Gregson, (Songwriter, Richard Thompson band, Any Trouble)

'Finely crafted contemporary tales of life....an album to play as the rain beats against the windows'
- Jon Hall, (Besonic)
