Genre-defying. Boundary-blurring. Funk, hip-hop, and the avant-garde. PC Muñoz is a San Francisco-based recording artist and producer, known for a unique production sound which pairs a futuristic-musique concréte aesthetic with traditional percussion instruments from all over the world. Past projects include cellist Joan Jeanrenaud's Grammy-nominated Strange Toys album, the award-winning multi-media project Twenty Haiku, as well as tracks with rock legend Jackson Browne, Prince and the Revolution synth wizard Dr. Fink, jazz/improv drumming great Scott Amendola, Kulintang master Danny Kalanduyan, electronic music sorceress bLevin bLectum, and many more.
Grab Bag, PC Muñoz's fifth album (originally released in 2008), finds Muñoz in a spiritually and sonically restless space, lyrically exploring issues of technology, evolution, and human connection while experimenting with a wide array of organic and electronic sounds, including Udu drums, Stylophones, Marimbulas, sped-up guitars, and woodwinds. Guests include former Prince and Madonna collaborator Ingrid Chavez, avant-garde cello goddess Joan Jeanrenaud, keyboard whiz Dr. Fink, renegade oboe man Kyle Bruckmann, and many more.
