Eclectic electronica, glitchy textures, sci-fi synths and off-the-beaten-path rhythmic ideas continue on PcOnTrApTiOn’s second album, augmented this time around with instrumental performances (guitar, piano, sax, bass) and occasional jazz flavorings.

Album Notes

Cosmic computers speaking between the lines of the human condition... exotic locales and lost myths illuminated by technology become magic... explorations, adventures and metaphysical nightlife... Free jazz lines float through the electronic stratosphere. The manic robot swamp factory continues to churn on through midnight. With their second release 'Expedition', PcOnTrApTiOn remains a multi-faceted, enigmatic and psychedelic experience, not easily pegged to the usual electronic or other genres, producing intelligent, stimulating and visceral music and cyberscapes to engage the senses of eclectic listeners and electronic aficionados. 'Expedition' continues their grounding in the electronic realm with lots of twists and turns and juxtapositions. This release also finds the band expanding its horizons by bringing some jazz flavor into the mix on some tracks, and incorporating instrumental performances: piano, electric guitar and bass from Meier and a sax recording from guest artist Michael Chocholak. Three tracks feature RDunlap's idiosyncratic programming and performance style on the vintage Casio CZ-101 digital synthesizer, supplementing the varied recordings from Johann Meier that make up the lion's share of raw material used by RD to construct PcOnTrApTiOn tracks.
