Album Notes

Originally an electronica/IDM sort of project, PcOnTrApTiOn (as in “Potato Contraption”) has evolved into a more eclectic sound with a broad range of influences and flavors. For example, three tracks on the Night City album feature improvised jazz piano. Some tracks veer off into experimental territory while others have more classical or pop flavors.

The project is a collaboration between Johann Meier (Jopy) and RDunlap (see dadala). Meier records the vast majority of source material (performances, programming various software, field recordings). RDunlap is responsible for selecting, combining, arranging and mixing the source materials, and occasionally contributes synthesizer recordings performed on a vintage 1985 Casio CZ-101 digital synthesizer.
