ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Prima Donna, saving your ears from the doldrums of the "Alternative" and delivering what the music scene has been waiting for. A look, a sound, a presence, and a reason to go back to Sunset Strip. Drawing inspiration from The New York Dolls, Iggy Pop, and T-Rex, Prima Donna will remind some listeners of the roots of punk music, while it will cause others to gasp and breathe in the "new sound."

Prima Donna will release their debut full length cd
"Kiss Kiss" on Brunette Records. Together for just
over a year, Prima Donna has a swagger, attitude and
superb understanding of what Glam Punk is all about.
The illustrious front man Kevin Preston delivers the
kicks, the licks, and everything a front man should.
David S. Field pounds the skins with consistency,
soul, and skill while never sounding mundane or
robotic. Erik Arcane plays a heavy rhythm guitar and
never forgets what being a showman is all about.
Aaron Minton completes the wall of sound with his
keyboards, and sexy sax playing that draws the girls
to the front.

Prima Donna has just returned from a whirlwind seven
country, 35 show European tour. It was the first
chance for Europe to take in the Prima Donna
experience. "About 20 seconds into the first song I
knew I was in good hands as Prima Donna tore into a
set of most wonderful glam punk'n'roll I've heard in
years." said Jens, a reviewer from Lowcut Magazine in
Sweden. He summed up what most people in US have
known all along: Prima Donna rocks!

Prima Donna continues to captivate the Hollywood
Sunset Strip, and all of Southern California while
preparing for the release of their album "Kiss Kiss"
and their North America tour in late 2005. Until then
keep an eye out for Prima Donna at the Key Club, The
Roxy, The Viper Room, Troubadour, or Knitting Factory.

PRIMA DONNA start on with "Eat Your Heart Out" that...
California, the place that gave birth in the 80s to tons of musicians, glamsters, posers more or less talented now offers us a more rock, punk alternative without dropping off the glamour side that girls love so much. As if they wanted to mark their territory and didn't want to be treacherous to the listener, PRIMA DONNA start on with "Eat Your Heart Out" that incontestably reminds me of the RICHMOND SLUTS and which gives to this album the best basis ever. Probably very influenced by the DOLLS, The HEARTBREAKERS (the impeccable production of "Kiss Kiss" reminds me of the one of "Rent Party" from The WALDOS than the one we could find on The HEARTBREAKERS records…) or the DEAD BOYS; Kevin Preston, leader of the band (even though I have to mention the other musicians who rock like hell, like for instance the saxophone and keyboard parts by Aaron Minton that give this special touch to most of the songs) then offers us 10 songs, each one being as good as the other. "Kiss Kiss" is a homogeneous album but, I think that the two leading titles are "Dummy Luv" with its Johnny Thunders feel and "Demoted" in which the intro strangely reminds me of "Partners In Crime" (FALLEN ANGELS.) There's no doubt that these two songs could help the band to surf on the success wave with some local radio support. This band is a real revelation to me. PRIMA DONNA rocks!

"Kiss Kiss" is basically the best damn glampunkrock'n'roll record I've heard in
Bought this cd at the recent awesome Prima Donna/Texas Terri show (see live review elsewhere) where they completely won me over with their swagger, attitude and superb understanding of what 70s rock is all about. "Kiss Kiss" is basically the best damn glampunkrock'n'roll record I've heard in years which blows away any of the Swedish competition. These eyeliner wearing yanks are fortunately not into that shitty Mötley Crüe (always sucked, always will, get it?) hair metal crud that some airheads call glamrock, no sir, Prima Donna goes for that timeless Dolls/Heartbreakers/Mott The Hoople sound and they pull it off perfectly. Aaron Minton's piano and especially his sax give the tunes a unique touch. All 11 tracks rip, my faves being "Double Crosser", "Crucify", and "Eat Your Heart Out". SENSATIONAL!

It always helps when a band puts something into their music and this is just one
These guys were recently in Europe with Texas Terri and they gave this CD to Tara for review. What do I think? I pretty much like it - I love that Cali Glam Rock N Roll sound. It always helps when a band puts something into their music and this is just one of those bands. Prima Donna deserve to be going somewhere and just listening to these 11 tracks on this album only confirms just how good they are. Have a listen to ´Eat Your Heart Out´, ´Demoted´, ´Doll Face Baby´ and ´Stray Doll´. Production is top notch and packaging well put together. Go on give them a listen! (Brunette) 8/10

These guys are great!
Prima Donna live shows are over-the-top. The type of live show that makes you excited to hear the album. The album is finally released and it brings it all into perspective. The music is glam, but not pretentious. The production is punk, but not hurried. The sound is recognizable, but gritty and fresh. And I dare say every song is great.

This is the real rockin deal
I recieved this record from CD Baby and few weeks ago and it has to be one of my favorites of the year. Nothin but pure glampunkrock'n'roll of the highest order. Great songs, excellent playing and this baby rocks! Like their headline on MySpace says "whole lotta SAX and a whole lotta AXE." Check'em out, I promise you will not be disapointed. I just hope they make it to the east coast to play sometime.
