Dirty guitars jumping a freight train, two voices delivering the perfect crime, drums and bass gettin' hammered, just hammered, stickin it to the man with funky riffs only to transcend it over hot and holy back vocals. Amen.

Album Notes

thank you for your interest in our band PEACEWORK - we can’t help being a little proud to present you with a flaming update:

The Ontario Independent Music Awards OIMA

NOMINATED us (yeah!).

There are 20 categories (@ end of this text), and at this point in time we are eligible for
ALL of those categories… :)

The concert with last year’s winners and the presentation of the awards will enrol in

Toronto’s Phoenix Theatre on Thursday, October 16th 2008.

Please let us know as soon as you can if you’d like to be present that nite or would like to book us for a nite of acoustic, original Folk Blues Rock while we are in TO or on the road (Oct 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th…), or an interview, or a crazy party or a vacation on a warm beach or a big fat jam nite…

Thank you all again and keep your fingers crossed for us!

Love and Peace

Maren & Scott

In the late August of 2004 Maren met Scott in St. Hippolyte, Quebec, where both came to chill out for the weekend with some friends. She clicked instantly with the Rock\'n Roll singer-songwriter and became an admiring fan of his unique guitar style before the third log was thrown on the campfire. He was infatuated with her versatile style and singing and also with her painted toenails. Both decided to relocate to Ontario to record and produce their own songs themselves. So they went back to Montreal, got more of her sandals and the hell out of the province. Together they wrote lots of new songs, repaired their guitars, bought new mics, kilometers of new strings, about a truckload of milk and have been organizing and playing lots.

Due to some strange but wonderful set of circumstances, PEACEWORK ended up producing their songs through humble people with genius abilities - Phillip Victor Bova, the father on the bass, and Philip Shaw Bova (Hilotrons), the son, on drums. It felt like some Holy Ghost descended on us not much later when these kindhearted pros drew other geniuses to contribute (Pierre Chretien from The SoulJazz Orchestra on keys and Brian Tansley on sax).
