"...tell LCD Soundsystem the news; Peachcake are going to take over the world." - The Jersey Beat
Stefan Pruett and John OKeefe are Peachcake, a couple of teen-age vigilantes who use their mutant-based powers to protect children and teen-agers from criminals. Though their quest to eliminate crime has taken them to many states, their main efforts are concentrated in Phoenix's Art District neighborhood.
Peachcake has done battle alongside Ambulance LTD, Autolux, Beck, Explosions in the Sky, The Go! Team, IMA Robot, Interpol, Junior Senior, Koufax, Limbeck, Louis XIV, Minus the Bear, Mouse on Mars, Of Montreal, Pennywise, Ratatat, Rise Against, Rx Bandits, Social Distortion, Waking Ashland, VHS or Beta, ZZ Top and many more. They have also fought in multiple tour dates at the sides of Hellogoodbye, Polysics and Steel Train. In 2005 Peachcake participated in a couple of their biggest battles to date, the Vans Warped Tour and Edgefest! Then in 2006 they fought in one of the greatest battles of all time SXSW!
In 2004 the duo scored a New Times October cover story as a result of all their hard work. They were also featured on Jones Soda Co. bottles nation wide in 2005 and were finalists in a Fanta contest that spanned the globe! Later that the dynamic duo was awarded for their endeavors by Phoenix New Times, Arizona Infusion of Music and Arizona Ska-Punk Awards! From there the terrific twosome got sponsored by Jones Soda Co. and Glamor Kills and were licensed through MTV and other companies throughout the world!
In spite of the high risks taken, they are happy to have sacrificed any hopes for a normal life in order to rid the world of crime. Peachcake will never rest until kids everywhere are safe!
