ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Peasants have completed FIVE tours in Europe since 2001 and are known for their energetic stage show.

Principle Peasant Pete Cassani grew up in a suburb of New York City called Levittown where all the houses look the same. He started playing guitar at age 14. Began playing in bands soon after. On school nights he would jump out the window of the second story house he lived in to go play with bands despite his parent's attempts to keep him away from the evil influences of rock music.

A few years later Cassani moved to Boston and began playing on the streets and subways of that city. The power trio of The Peasants was born and began touring the USA in the Spring of 1997. Soon after the first tour they self-released the 13 song Out On The Street CD.

Over 250 college radio stations put the CD on their playlists after only 8 weeks of the release. A totally Do It Yourself band, The Peasants put out their own records, book their own tours and play their own uncompromising rock all over the USA, having completed 10 National USA tours so far.

In 2001 The Peasants hooked up with a Dutch booking agent and began touring Holland and later, Germany. They found a huge European audience that was hungry for authentic American street rock.

After tour #3, The Peasants returned to Boston and recorded the 12 song Welcome To My Country CD in one week. Suburban Records (Holland) and Cargo Records (Germany) signed to distribute the two self released Peasant records after #4 Tour Feb/March 2002.

Fall 2002 The Peasants did a month tour of Holland, Germany, Belgium and Austria. Welcome To My Country and Out On The Street are available in most Northern European record stores!!!!

Fall 2003 Welcome To My Country will hit US college radio for the first time and Pete will be hitting the roads solo in support of it. As usual, he has no label, no distribution and completely no respect for the scumbags that currently run music in America but he will be out touring as the CD hits the stations.

If you want to book a show with Pete, go to the contacts section of this website. He will be out early October 2003. Thank you for your interest in truly independent music.

East Coast Rock at its Best. You put on this CD and you can`t just target one song. I`ve been late for work 9 times since I first got a hold of this music. Lead Peasant, Pete Cassani, again gets the audiance their moneys worth. In the power trio world, these guys must be recognized. This CD is full of jumpers and quality written songs. As a listener and Lover of all types of music its hard to label these energetic New Englanders into any one category. Just turn it up,listen to the lyrics and enjoy. You`ll know what I mean.
