  • The Best
    author: Nicholas Cooper

I cannot add anything new to the many other compliments paid to 'All My Concertos' I consider the players on this Cd to be the best in the world, with Tone, technique, and range to die for. Well played everyone.

  • All My Concertos
    author: John Elliott

Great for all brass players. This is a must have for any trombone player, and a chance to hear some of the great names who played on "Tutti's Trombones" doing what they do so well, together with some of today's younger players. I loved this CD, and I'm not even a trombonist!

  • Must have CD for players
    author: Jim Davis

If you are a bone player, you need to have this CD. The charts for several of the cuts are available but it great to just listen and enjoy. Production values are not great but it really sounds live. What great players!

  • Excellent CD, spectacular playing and writing.
    author: Paul Scofield

This CD is a must have for any trombone player. It's wonderful to have Tommys music played by such a great group of virtuosos. I only wish that we had more of his music and his playing available on CD.

I couldn't help listening the CD for the first few days, then a friend of mine, who did not know the ALL MY FRIENDS, borrowed it. I'm sure he is ready to purchase one by now! It's a pity we don't have the ALL MY FRIENDS any longer.

  • Great production. I enjoyed it very much

  • Virtuoso Trombone work and excellent sound quality
    author: Ernie Carbajal

This session is a wonderful display of trombone virtuosity and the recording sound quality is excellent considering that it was recorded in a living room with minimal equipment. I'm a trumpet player and my musical preference is jazz, but this classical material is so satisfying and the skill level of these studio musicians so incredible that I was mesmerized.

  • Tommy Pederson - All My Friends Love Tommy Pederson
    author: H. David Busch

This CD is a must have for trombone players. Tommy Pederson is to trombone music as Rachmaninov is to piano. A true masterpiece. This CD captures the west coast trombone sound better than any other CD I've come across. Do I hear a re-release of All My Friends Are Trombone Players?

  • Excellent mix, beautifully performed
    author: Francis Hewetson

Well balanced recording displaying the full range of the trombones's musical character. A great mix of music well performed by highly competent professional musicians.

  • Very well done
    author: Harvey G. Putsche

This is an extremely well done compilation of Tommy's Concerto's. Each piece was handled in the way I remember Tommy would have it done. Good job guys (and gal's).

  • Truly spectacular playing
    author: Jeff Boultinghouse

The best trombone ensemble playing I've ever heard by some of the best trombonists on the planet. Dick Nash still has the sweetest lyrical touch and nobody goes lower better than Phil Teele. With artists of this caliber and Tommy Pederson's wonderful ear for how trombones should go together, this CD absolutely has to be in every brass player's library. (And, no, I'm not related to Jim Boltinghouse.)

  • BEST TROMBONE CD THE YEAR
    author: Rene Laanen

They delivered the goods with uncompromising truth. On this CD are playing the finest studio trombonists from LA. - Trombone Page of the World - www.trombone-usa.com

  • Having heard this recording, I would buy anything put out by this group!
    author: Scott Ashley

This CD is a must have for anyone who wants to get better at playing a brass instrument. AND its great to listen to just for enjoyment. The technical togetherness of the tenor trombones is as good as or bettter than any orchestral recording you'll ever hear. And the bass trombones are nothing short of awesome. Listen and learn...breathing, tone, articulation, musicianship, composition...Wow. This could be the least expensive, most valuable instruction you will ever receive.

  • Excellent, inspirational
    author: Slideman

Great trombone playing, original music, excellent production. Inspirational to any trombone player.

  • Pederson, the real way!
    author: Garrett Stephan

It was a delight to hear LA's best paying hommage to some of the trombone world's greatest gems.

  • This is great playing!
    author: Harry Smallenburg

All trombone players should buy this CD for examples of great playing by all the great players on it. It was recorded in a living room, but that enhances the "reality-trombone" quality--no dressing up, no digital enhancements, just solid playing. You can hear them breathe and reach for the notes. Forget reality tv--that's stupid. Go for reality performance--that's art!

  • Totally Awesome
    author: Mark

This was all I thought it would be! Totally awesome and humbling to an aspiring trombonist. It only gets better with more hearings, too!

  • Everything a trombonist needs to hear!
    author: Ryan

This CD is everything an apiring trombonist needs to hear. The playing is amazing, and a prime example of what trombone playing should sound like. The tracks are well performed and everything sounds great. A must for every young trombone player's library!

  • Great CD. We loved it.
    author: Skip Sperry

Great CD. I bought it for my neice, who is a new trombone player (5th grade). We both enjoyed it a lot, and it was a great Christmas present.

  • author: BOB GENNARINI

IF YOU LOVE THE TROMBONE ,YOULL LOVE THIS CD.IT IS A GREAT PIECE OF WORK BY GREAT PLAYERS.

  • Awesome, Simply Awesome!
    author: Randy Wallen

Kudo's to Jim B. and all of the others who brought about this monumental work. It has wonderful solo work, but also amazing group work as well. Like I said, awesome, simply awesome!

  • A MUST HAVE addition to any trombonists collection.
    author: Phil Burton

Most any trombonist regardless of his or her preference towards music style, will appreciate this CD. The heavyweights of the LA Terrible Tempered Trombones did one tremendous job with these charts.

  • A Super Display of Outstanding Trombonning!!
    author: Marshall Johnson

Having been an admirer of Tommy Pederson's writings and the playing of the Hoyt's Garage bunch, this CD is fully as great as I expected it would be. My 5 Star Rating says it all. How could perfection be made any better?

  • Beautiful trombone ensemble by a "trombonist's trombonist"
    author: Chris Tune

Tommy Pederson and Hoyt Bohannon were both studio trombonists in Los Angeles, CA during the heydey and the decline of movie and TV work - the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. For fun, they created a regular, trombone ensemble night at Hoyt's house called "Hoyt's Garage". Tommy was the most prolific of the arrangers of trombone ensemble music. I had a chance to see Hoyt's Garage play when I was a young teenage trombone student (my teacher was a colleague) and was wowed by the abilities of the great players and the beauty of the large trombone ensemble. Typically, the group was ten trombones including two bass trombones. Players would include George Roberts, Alan Johnson, Bob Payne, Tommy, Hoyt, Dick Noel, Jim Sawyer, Bill Tole, Bill Broughton and others who rotated in to the ensemble. Now Tole, Broughton, Sawyer, and Payne are joined by the new generation of studio bone players (Alan Kaplan, Bruce Otto, Bill Booth, Craig Ware, Alex Iles, Dick Nash, Phil Teele, and leader Jim Boltinghouse (his wife Debbie and their daughter also appear) bring to modern recording these great trombone pieces. May they do more! This is not really jazz, or classical music per se, but rather an amalgam of styles and trombonistic approaches to music. If you love trombone, you will love this album.

  • Trombone's finest!!!
    author: Jay Heltzer

The music of Tommy Pederson, although known primarily by trombonists, is now for all to hear. Here is a composer (and talented player when he was alive) who writes for the trombone, both as a solo instrument, and a full ensemble like no other. Some of Los Angeles' finest trombone players are doing the ultimate justice in making the sound of Tommy's concertos live on in a long overdue recording. Each soloist does a phenomenal job in mastering and presenting the challenging works that Mr. Pederson wrote. If you know and love Tommy's works, buy this. If you want to hear trombone like its never been heard before, buy this! A must-have!

  • Great Music and Wonderful Playing. These Guys are probably the only guys on the
    author: Dr. James R. Pletcher

Dear CD Baby: Wonderful music and great artistic performance. The players are the best in the world. If the U.S. had an Olympic event with Trombone players competing, the U.S. just won the Gold with this C.D. Thanks for such beautiful music. Regards Dr. James Pletcher
