-Pedestrian is a Band and Art Project from Los Angeles, created by guitarist/songwriter, Joel Shearer in late 2002

-Pedestrian has nothing to do with walking or being ordinary so put those thoughts to rest

-Pedestrian is lyrical, poetic, chaotic, dirty, beautiful, loud, dynamic and we like David Bowie, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Nick Drake, The Cure, U2, Nirvana, Radiohead and Jeff Buckley to name a few

-Pedestrian consists of a revolving door of session and touring musicians who have contributed to the music of Fiona Apple, Gnarles Barkley, Shakira, Alanis Morissette, Damien Rice, Our Lady Peace, Annie Lennox, Carly Simon, Lindsey Buckingham, John Cale and Richard Thompson to name a few

-Pedestrian does not sound like any of the above

-Pedestrian did not meet on the streets of Philadelphia

-Pedestrian does not believe in war

-Pedestrian toured with Damien Rice most of 2003 and Our Lady Peace in 2005

-Pedestrian has 3 independently released cd’s:
the Electric and Acoustic EP’s-2003

Ghostly Life-2006

-Pedestrian recorded Ghostly Life between the summers of 2004 and 2006 in Los Angeles

-Pedestrian’s Ghostly Life is inspired by art, politics, love, hate, life, loneliness, chaos and good Scotch

-Pedestrian’s Ghostly Life will make you feel better when you are down

-Pedestrian thanks you for reading and listening and if you would like to read more, please visit our website at: www.pedestrianmusic.org

to me the whole cd is so beautiful that it's like one single piece of music (am I repeating myself, Joel? ) with different movements in it... it gives me an impression of completeness -- it's both very medidative and bad-ass. a true work of art.
It really is impressive ; I hadn't felt this way listening to music in years!

so yeah, Ghostly Life is not too bad........

The record leads off with the song 'Headwreck' : a hint of exasperation encompassed by an efficacious guitar riff. Immediately, i am deeply plunged into a colorful, burning, unique musical universe... i emerge 50 minutes later with the fabulous 'Ghostly Life'... allayed, appeased, stronger... "i am fine".

These two songs, the opening and the closing ones, perfectly reflect the whole record.

The music, led by sharp guitar riffs and dreamy guitar effects, feels like a warm, delicate coat of sound, where i comfortably wrap myself in. It's safe, peaceful, like home - whatever home means...

A voice sometimes soft, sometimes powerful takes me away... "it's so much safer here, it can't be safer here..."

The lyrics paint admirably well the inner ambivalence of the human being, in all its splendor and darkness. Smooth, strong, pure, insane, restful, tormented, confused, caring, hateful, resentful, forgiving, soft, angry, frustrated, chaotic, heavy, light, desillusionned, hopeful, huge, fragile, agressive... This record is deeply human. I am not alone and it feels good.

Plus, in strict confidence, someone who writes genius lyrics such as
« We retreat to cubbyholes, full of invention
But we fall short for we are obsessed with our possessions
We relive all that we can, take it in and swim
But we fall short for we are possessed by our obsessions
And i'm vamping out in leisurely walls of denial »
can not be fundamentally bad.
Right ? Right.

Pedestrian new album Ghostly Life is a wrought, passionnate piece of art featuring the help of many other talented musicians such as Alexi Murdoch and Joe Purdy. The artwork by Sean Odell is phenomenal and perfectly illustrates the soul of the record.

This was the first bit of Pedestrian music that I have been exposed to and thank God!! This disc is so amazing. I love all the different grooves that it has. I put it in the car player on the way home from the concert and cranked it.
It is something too that makes you think. I don't know what it is, but it's something that just really hit home. I guess it's probably the way that Joel promoted it on stage. The lyrics are just so in your face. Does this make sense to anyone else?

A musical sun in a dark time
author: Clint
This album is the kind of music that makes me love music. It is the kind of music that will have me emotionally entangled in the tunes, time and time again. I just can't stop listening to it, and it gives me hope for rock as something other than a product. This is the best album I have listened to in quite some time and I treat it the same way I did Pearl Jam's Ten, Radiohead's OK Computer, or other albums that influenced me as musician, and me as human. The curve of the tunes on this album is addicting and you'll find yourself connecting with the songs on one level or another. I am really glad Pedestrian is in the world. To start with an album like this, is to start at a place that I know many more great things will come from.

The music we've been missing
author: Jon
A Ghostly life is a reminder that there is still hope for music out there. It comes at you like a tornado full of sound and emotion and leaves you feeling like you need to hear it again to believe it just happened. It is a one of the most well constructed and beautiful albums I have heard in a long while. It is a straight through listen that, at it's end, makes you want to start again. A Ghostly Life is the album I really needed to hear. It could easily be that album that you remember a very specific part of your life becuase it was always playing durring it. A meaningful soundtrack to life, when life really needs it. My must have album of the year.

Superb CD from a band who are even better live!
author: Dave Brindle
This album is absolutely superb in almost every way. It has everything from moody, Radiohead-esque I dare say pieces, during which Joel gets to showcase that stunning voice of his - to simple rock outs but with a lyrical bite. This CD is notoriously impossible to get hold of in the UK and and Ireland (I'm in Liverpool, UK) but I'm so glad I managed to grab a copy of it here. It's beautiful, powerful stuff.
