Album Notes

Karen is a Nashville based fiddler, vocalist and songwriter. She has toured with and backed many prominent artists in country and bluegrass music. She has also toured internationally (Japan, Norway, Canada, Ireland, England and Wales) both as a backing side person and as a featured artist in her own right. Karen has strong roots both in country and bluegrass music, growing up with the musical influences of her fiddle playing father and the music of the North Carolina region. Karen's original song, "Keystone Coal" has been recorded by Bobby Osborne on his latest "Bluegrass and Beyond" CD on Rounder records.
Karen previously recorded a traditional country/western swing CD, "I'll Be There" and an acoustic Christmas CD, "Ring The Bells Of Christmas". Both CDs feature her vocals and fiddle playing.
Karen was also a founding member of the all female bluegrass group, the HeartStrings, touring and recording two CDs with this group.
Karen now steps out to record her own bluegrass CD, entitled, “Cottage Grove Jig”. The CD features many of Karen’s original songs, along with her strong vocals and fiddle playing.
