Album Notes
"We Freed the Slaves" is a record that the music really fits the title. The title of the record isn't supposed to the offensive and we really don't think it is, its to some members of the band metaphorical in a sense that we are telling you, the listener, "Here we are and we are free to do what we want. Once before, that was an impossibility but now we are coming back like you never would of imagined." This is good punk rock music with heavy metal influences in places you would never dream there could be a squeal coming from a guitar. A three piece band, led by a female bass player with a prescense of thunder and that is, as dedicated in Mugrero's song "Mugrero Stomp"; "As strong as a man". With a metal guitarist bringing the roots of metal influences into the sounds of the band and a drummer that is fast, loud and amazing at bringing the backbone rhythym to this band. It is in your face, it is abbrasive and it is fun. We are all having a good time and this record is showing that. People that listen to this record will love the loudness, the in your face sounds blasting through your speakers and the way you feel good after listening to this record. As said by the Houston Press, "Penny Arcade's record "We Freed the Slaves" is astonishing and something you would not expect to hear coming from your stereo but its just music you forgot you loved."

You will love this music. You will love this band. No doubt about it.
