Album Notes

Penthouse J is Pete Gustin. It is also the name of the place where his music was born. Moving to New York City in the year 2000, Pete Gustin found a little place on the corner of 54 th and 7 th just steps away from the Ed Sullivan Theatre. This top floor apartment had exclusive access to an enormous rooftop patio that allowed a view right down 7 th Avenue towards the giant television in Times Square. This amazing rooftop patio was the place where a great many of these songs were written. The name of the apartment, in a building called “The Adlon”, was Penthouse J.

If you listen to the radio, and you live in America, chances are pretty good that you've heard the voice of Pete Gustin at some point in your life. Currently, Pete is an announcer and the Creative Services Director for the highest rated sports talk radio station in America; Sports Radio 850 WEEI. He is also the main voice of Sirius Radio's heavy metal channel called "Hard Attack" where he is often referred to as “the voice of Hell”. In the past, he has spent time on air at WRKO, WEGQ, WPXC, WBZ and even made appearances on New York's WNEW and KTU. If you missed him there, then chances are you've heard him doing some of his comedy bits that are syndicated all around the world.

Now, the voice of Pete Gustin has found its music, and Pete Gustin has become Penthouse J. Taking all the skills he's used for years to create content for radio, Pete began single handedly creating an entire album of music that is making creating a lot of buzz across the nation.

Penthouse J's foray into music actually began sooner than most people think. In fact, one day while sitting in his studio writing and producing comedy for Rick Dees he decided it might be fun to try his hand at a song instead of a comedy bit. After only a few weeks, he had written three songs called“Song 2”, “Recognizable Face” and “Groove Attic” (all streamable on www.penthousej.com) The following year, in 2000, Pete found himself in New York City working as a Production Director and Voice Over Talent for Sirius Satellite Radio. With a new studio and the backdrop of New York City as inspiration, Pete once again tried his hand at music. He found that just as before, the music came easy to him and after only five months of work he had written, sung, and produced his entire first album.
By 2002, Pete was back in Boston at WEEI and by the end of the year, he finished up work on three more songs including “Rhymin’ & Stealin”, “The Mating Dance”, and “Evil Inside”. With 14 songs all done and ready to go, the first album called “Mind the Time” was released.
