ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The fun continues! Volume 2 picks up where Volume 1 left off...More fun, humorous songs about artists and art for kids (and adults!). Multiple musical styles and singable lyrics take you on a wild musical adventure. The brainchild of art teacher/musician Greg Percy, the music was created as a unique way to engage his elementary art students. Is Dali really serious? Is Mona Lisa the "Girl of My Dreams"? You'll go "Down to the Art Room" and learn about Calder's "World on a String". The melodic "Mondrian" will take you up and down, left and right. "Tints and Shades" will increase your palette,it's true. All of the music is catchy, enjoyable, and easy to remember.Your kids will love it and so will you. If you liked Volume 1, then Volume 2 is "must have"! (Volume 3 is now available too! )

For the second year in a row Greg's music was one of the winners in the MSG's nationwide songwriting contest. His music was also recently featured on WFUV New York as a part of their tribute to Van Gogh's 150th birthday.

ARTNEWS magazine editor Carly Berwick recently ran a story about Greg's music and explained it was a "veritable goldmine"....

SCHOLASTIC INSTRUCTOR (Jan 2005) ran an article about Greg using music in his classroom to enhance his art curriculum.

DJ Uncle Chris of WTUL-FM New Orleans has featured Greg's music in heavy rotation on his morning show.

Host Pete Fornatale of WFUV's "Mixed Bag" radio show said "You should check it out for yourself....especially if you're involved in teaching art..."

Check out Volume 1,3 and 4!!!

Mondrian song made my masterpiece art lesson great.
I used the "Mondrian" song today when I taught a "masterpiece art" lesson for my daughter's 2nd grade class. I copied the words to the song and passed them out for the kids to sing along. We went over the words like poetry and compared the words to Mondrian's works, style and technique. It turned out to be a poetry/art/music lesson rolled up into one. It was fantastic and fun. Can't wait to try it again with Calder next time!! I have all three CD's and can't wait for the next one. Keep them coming!!!
Thanks.

My students love to listen as they create their masterpieces
The Mondrian song has motivated and inspired my students. They beg to hear more. I am planning to use many of the songs to reinforce future lessons.
