Album Notes

Percy Metcalf is one of the world's best-unknown singers. In the 70's he was invited by Curtis Mayfield to join the Impressions. Legal problems put an end to that deal but by then Percy was on everybody 's radar screen in the music biz. He went on to sing backup for Earth Wind and Fire and record countless jingles.

After numerous near brushes with fame, Percy decided to retire and raise a family. In 2003 he was approached about singing jazz. The rest, as they say, is history.

Percy Metcalf represents the new face of jazz singing. His style is approachable and soul-filled. His technique is awe-inspiring. Percy Metcalf is putting the vocals back in jazz where they belong. And he's doing it with a style uniquely his own.
