Either my most accessible or least accessible album ever. While stylistically it most often levels out near familiar horizons, it's variety of heights and depths creates a paradox unified by the presence of an uncomfortable old acquaintance who won't stop taking about the past. Though on the surface these songs appear to reflect helplessness, longing, and despondency; they are really a representation of the complexity of all emotion confronted honesty. But it's simpler than all this, it's just me sitting on the deck watching the still pond glisten in the early afternoon sun. It's just me riding my bike into town at dusk as a light rain starts to fall. It's just me and you in the statue of liberty together for the last time.
