Album Notes

Yvonne Perea's folky-blues music and thick voice will grab you upon first listen--her songwriting and striking sound will keep you.

Whether ballad, such as her lyrical "Tommorrow's Day," or blues, like the feisty "Keeper of It All" Perea has a sound that always makes a song uniquely her own. "Perea's music provid[es] a voice for women of like minds... and to anyone who wishes to some day possess [her] brand of voracious determination." (--M. Hoyer, for radiospy.com)

Yvonne Perea has been singing, songwriting and playing guitar for more than 23 years. She has written and performed with artists such as Susan Gibson, the writer of the Dixie Chicks' award-winning song, "Wide Open Spaces," and she has held the top 3 positions in her genre on the Riffage.com charts--at once. Yvonne has also been a performing member of the female independent artist network, Indiegrrl for over a year. She has opened for major name artists, including Meshell Ndegeocello, Jonatha Brooke, Sophie B. Hawkins, Nickle Creek and others.

Perea is the embodiment of the strong, talented, rockin' female musician--and she delivers every time.

While her sound and style have evolved over the years, Perea's commitment to playing excellent music remains as fierce and intense as the first day she picked up the guitar. Quite simply, this woman can play.
