Album Notes

In music today, there are artists who start bands and write songs with shallow hopes of one day earning fame and celebrity. Then there are other artists who get together simply because it feels great to write honest songs from the heart. It’s musicians like the latter who embody the definition of a great band. PERFECT HOUR is such a band.

When PERFECT HOUR began writing and playing together their individual flare, past musical influences and desire to be heard guided the album effortlessly. Inspirational artists like Otis Redding, Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and John Bonham, have influenced the band and aided in the creation of their self-titled debut album.

Producer/Engineer Dean Maher, who is recognized for his work with artists like R.E.M., Bryan Adams, Sloan and ACDC, collaborated and lent his expert ear to several of the album’s songs. What we’re left with is an amazing debut album. It’s replete with melodies and a mature kind of honesty. Each song is a personal invitation that tells its own story, provoking thought and emotions for every listener.

For the band, it’s important that the group continues to grow and appease its own collective conscience, musically and socially. It’s equally as important for them to be able to share their stories with music fans everywhere.

To date the band has played several shows throughout the lower mainland at venues like the Vogue Theatre and the Roxy. Their performance is contagious, electric and full of energy. Before beginning a cross country tour to perform NXNE in Toronto, they will be playing a few more shows locally.
