Album Notes

In summer 2008, I went long walks around in the forests at Halden, where I live. Besides listening to the silence, I listened to music, and especially David Bowie. One afternoon as I walked and hummed at Bowie's - I'm an absolute beginner, I passed a map. On the map it said: - You are on the edge of the map. I stopped to think about this, and concluded that I had two choices: either to go the same route back or continue on to areas outside the map. I chose the latter, and it has been exiting. One of the new things I tried was songwriting, and my Debut Album includes the first songs I wrote.

My story and musical background stems from the Pentecostal movement. Already at sixteen, I traveled around the country as a singing evangelist. Some years later, after having pastoring several churches, I decided to quit as pastor. As a reflective person, I could not cope with all the expectations. At the same time I am very grateful for my upbringing and for the period I was a preacher. Contradiction? Definitely. But that´s me. The song "Old Country Church" is a tribute to my upbringing in the church.

The album was recorded at Athletic Sound with Kai Andersen producing. Kai Andersen, the owner of the studio has produced and/or engineered hundreds of independent and major acts. A lot of the albums have reached gold and platinum, as well as receiving Norwegian "grammys". The musicians and singers on the record is Runar Gimre, Freddy Holm, Terje Støldahl, Tor Hauge, Stig Roar Wigestrand, Camilla Andreassen, Marianne Seifert, Army Gospel, a children's choir from Gimle primary school and several other backing singers.
