Perry Dickison’s life has always been centered in music. His mother, a pianist, and his father, a violinist, filled their home with music. By age four, Perry was at the keyboard joining in the family ‘jam’ sessions. He began formal piano lessons at age seven, eventually completing Grade Ten with the Toronto Conservatory Piano programme. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver in 1979, where he concentrated on Piano and Voice.
Perry began his professional music career in 1981 teaching High School Music in Richmond, BC but his desire to perform and record as a solo performer led him to leave teaching in 1990 so that he could pursue his dream. A successful audition with Crystal Cruises in Los Angeles began a new chapter in Perry’s journey and from 1990 to 1998 Perry travelled the world, performing on The Crystal Harmony and The Crystal Symphony. On these journeys, Perry developed a network of colleagues, friends and faithful fans that maintain close contact with him to this day and Perry is often called upon to travel afar to perform at special occasions in their lives.
Perry has been a featured soloist with a number of orchestras including the Prince George Symphony, the Niagara Symphony and the Hamilton Symphony Orchestra. Since 2004, he is a featured entertainer with Seminar at Sea, aboard the MV Explorer in the Caribbean. Perry is also an accomplished accompanist, much sought after by other professional vocalists and instrumentalists because of his remarkable skill and versatility in such diverse musical styles as Pop, Gospel, Broadway, Opera and Classical.
In the midst of his busy performing schedule Perry has also recorded and produced four solo albums, which feature current contemporary songs, inspirational music and Pop Standards. Perry’s first three albums, released in 1993, 1995 and 1997 respectively, featured Perry singing as well as playing all the instrumental tracks. Those three albums sold out but as a result of requests from fans, he released a compilation CD in 2005 entitled LOOK BEYOND, featuring favourites from his previous albums. On his 50th birthday, January 26, 2007, Perry released his latest album, THE WAY I FEEL. In December 2007, he released his much anticipated Christmas CD called MY CHRISTMAS GIFT.
Perry is a captivating performer. His beautiful voice, outstanding musicianship and charm beguile his audience instantly whether he is performing in concert, singing and playing in a lounge setting, or bringing his inspirational gift of music to church congregations. Perry’s passion for music, evident in everything he performs, has won him countless loyal fans.
Some audience response:
"Those songs and words and feeling touched so many people. As usual, something about you, your voice and your songs go straight to the heart. Thanks again and please don't stop...you have so much to give this earth!"
"What a wonderful evening, and well worth double the price. Your singing was inspiring and beautiful and your playing was above and beyond the call of duty. A true professional."
"Your music is a source of such solace and comfort. Your inspiring musicianship continues to amaze me at every performance. Well done!"
"What I heard over and over again is not just how great your voice is, and how amazing you are as a pianist - but the heart and soul that come through when you sing. I think you express your love through music better than anyone I've ever heard. And about the concert tonight - I loved every note!"

Look Beyond
author: Robert Leonard
I purchased the first album of Look Beyond at a Silver Harbour performance. My friend liked it so much when she heard it on my car player that she just had to have a copy. I agreed. The selections are balanced and interesting, familiar yet presented uniquely; the voice and the overall album are both excellent, personal and extremely professional. A Winner!

Although it has some songs from previous CD's it is fabulous. I miss hearing him in person, since he has such a wonderful Baritone voice. I eally enjoy listening to this, and his others on my way to and from work each day. Keep it up Perry.
