Album Notes

Singer/Songwriter Jim Perry has had enough. The frightening political trends of the current administration led Jim towards a more political point of view in this latest batch of songs. Titled “Blueprints of Ruins”, the CD is ‘sharply pointed and fiercely political’, as one reviewer put it. Songs like ‘King George Has Spoken’, ‘Dear Mr. President’, and the title track, go right for the jugular lyrically. ‘Armegeddon’s Comin’ and ‘Mr. Jade’, both featuring lyrics by Perry’s part-time collaborator Ken Jason, echoes the lyric style of Bob Dylan.
This collection, however, is not all about anger and despair. Ultimately, it rings on a positive note, closing out with the hopeful ‘Born In Love With the World’, and ‘We’re In This Together’. The collection as a whole is an emotional statement from a songwriter at the peak of his craft.
