Another excellent - and different - release from the talented Louise Perryman
author: Geoff Williams
A new album from Louise Perryman is always something to look forward to, and "Whatever Lucy Says" doesn't disappoint. Best known for her stylish soul and jazz-funk vocals, Louise ventures into new territory here with an eclectic collection which demonstrates just how versatile she is. Louise touches a wide range of musical bases, from the reggae-tinged "Genius of Love" to the gospel inflections of "I Don't Care" and the enigmatic (autobiographical?)title track. And you won't hear a better mainstream pop song this year than the beautifully-crafted "Sticks and Stones". Mix in Louise's mature and distinctive voice and the fine support of her talented backing musicians, and you have another worthy - and different - addition to this outstanding singer's catalogue.

Hauntingly honest, this CD touches the heart and soul
author: Miranda Sutton
If there's one thing better than listening to Louise Perryman's songs, it's being in the same room with her when she sings them. I was lucky enough stumble upon this fantastic performer at the launch of this album in Melbourne. It was there I bought the CD and have nearly worn it out listening to it. The honesty doesn't just shine through in the lyrics, but the music and vocals reach right into my soul. There are so many amazing tracks on this album. Whatever Lucy Says, I Don't Care and Genius of Love are all beautiful. My personal favourite though is Only Blue, which brings a tear to my eyes every time. I am so happy to have discovered Louise and even happier to live in the same country where I can see her perform live, which I intend to do regularly.
