"Wisconsin's Perry Weber & the Devilles are as hip as it gets. A four piece fronted by Weber (guitar, vocals), they do it all on their self-released "Savage Beauty"... Weber nails the goldtop tone and touch in"Lonesome Whistle Blues", "I started up again" features a dynamite Leslie sound on Weber's guitar and a bass part by Dave Kasic that channels Keith Fergusen's slamming T-birds style, Victor Span's drumming is dead-on. "Savage Beauty" is the debut recording from Milwaukee's Perry Weber & The DeVilles. The CD showcases the group's great sound and playing, along with Weber's clever, but never contrived originals. The group's musical resume reads like a who's who of the Blues world. Before forming the DeVilles, the members of the band performed/toured/recorded with such names as Hubert Sumlin, Luther Allison, James Cotton, Bryan Lee, Jim Liban, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, and Nick Moss, just to name a few! "Savage Beauty" features eight original Weber compositions, as well as covering gems from Freddy King, Slim Harpo, and Hank Williams Sr.
