ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
They've been around since 2005, the band consists of four (4) friends in the shape of Jipie (vocals, guitar and piano), Kudux (drums, backing vocals), Nizam Camel (guitar, backing vocals) and Mann (bass). They call themselves “PESAWAT”, which means “airplane” to reflect their fast and loud music and to symbolise their dream to bring their music across the world.

PESAWAT made their way into the spotlight in November 2008 after releasing their first single called “Mirage”. It received rave reviews, topping charts nationwide and even across South East Asia. Music video for the track is launch in an actual airplane, thanks to Channel [V], Malaysia Airlines (MAS), Malaysia Airport Berhad and Astro back in 2009 and the event was broadcasted through out Asia.

They released two more singles “Rasional Emosional” and “Excuse Me” few months after that. Following up the success of their first single, “Excuse Me” climbing up several radio charts and receive “The Best Song of The Year 2009” award by Hitz FM later that year.

The success of both songs has prompting one of the biggest snack food company, Twisties to collaborate with the band for their TV show, Twisties Bingit. The band’s single “Bingit” been used as the theme song. The TV show aired nationwide. But the collaboration didn’t stop there. Twisties decided to continue with the band’s another single “Mesti Mau” in their latest campaign for the coming year (2010). The launch was made in the middle of Kuala Lumpur where they started a flash mob to promote the campaign.

In 2010, the band been invited to performed at L.A. Lights Indie Fest in Bandung, Indonesia along with Camera Obscura (Ireland), Electrico (Singapore) and several others local performers. The same year, they head to Hong Kong for Music Matters Live Asia 2010 to play alongside 40 international acts from around the globe. Apart from that, they’ve shared the stage with numerous shows with several international acts over the years with the likes of KORN, N.E.R.D, Nidji, Dewa19 and many more.

They’ve been nominated for several awards: Best New Act (Shout Awards 2009), Best Pop/Indie Rock Act (Junksound Awards 2009), Semi-final for Mirage (Muzik Muzik 24), Song of the Year Hitz FM for Excuse Me/ Song of the Year XFM for Rasional Emosional/ Best Freaking Act of the Year (VIMA Awards 2010), The Best band/ The Talented New Artist/ The Best New Band/ The Best Song Categories for Bingit (ROTTW Music Poll 2009).

Hopefully, there’s more to come …
