Album Notes

Carrying forward the positive possibilities of the ideals of the 1960s and '70s into the here and now, the songs are a testament to the values of peace, compassion, self-discovery, and true independence from the simplified viewpoint of the surface.

Teri Hitt called the band Pet Buffalo in reverence to her Cherokee roots. Christopher Lopez (keys) and Teri created some of the songs together and the rest came from Teri's late nights of painting and writing in Redondo Beach, CA.

A combination of rock, blues, and folk leaning towards an earthy blues rock feel.

“The songs are about waking up and realizing the way things are, and that each of us has an effect on the world through our attitude and how we think about ourselves. I called the CD Independent Variable because we each must act independently, irrespective often times, of the mind set of those who have raised us or who are around us. It seems the solutions to our problems come now from activating the dormant parts of our spirits (and brains) and using these gifts moment to moment to create beauty and happiness. The very frequency of this acting as a waveform that transforms negativity.”
