You could call this 'the naked blues'.... very little production, just stripped down good songs, good playing and lots of exposed emotion.

notes
Years before Pete 'Big Dog' Fetters began fronting his band he performed an acoustic solo show. His latest recording, on his own label, Two Sisters Records, is a return to that sound.
The CD, entitled "DEEP", contains 11 songs, ten originals and a cover of Stephen Fosters 'Oh Suzanna'. The songs were recorded at the world famous Tempermill Studio in Ferndale Michigan featuring vocals, slide guitar, stomp board and racked harmonica (on two songs) by Pete.

One-man blues to boogie to...
author: Derrin Richards, New ZealandNice work, Pete - a one-man blues cd that gets your foot tapping and no doubt gets the dancers dancing is no mean feat. Nice songs, some clever lyrics, and beautiful clean slide work. Next time, more harp please and let's hear you rip it up some more with your big voice. Cheers bro.
Enjoyable listening experience.
author: Alligator Records / Bruce Iglauer"I enjoyed this album quite a bit for it's understated and tasteful folkie/bluesy approach. There's a lot of personality; the recorded sound is pleasant and intimate and feels good......this was a very enjoyable listening experience." Bruce Iglauer, President Alligator Records
Blues the way it's meant to be played
author: MarkThis is blues the way it's meant to be played - stripped down and raw. And let's be honest, is there anyother way to hear the blues? As a fan who saw Pete all the time while in Michigan this is the first cd, apart from his live disc, that truly captures the Big Dogs spirit. Gritty, bare bones and honest. That my friends, is the blues!
Perfect!
author: J-Sin (Editor @ Smother.net)"Pete Fetters traverses Americana and roots rock for a blues-rock sound that sounds straight from the Deep South--but get this, he calls Michigan home. Having opened for the legends like B.B.King, Leon Russel and Delbert McClinton, you already would have fathomed that his talent is impeccable but who would have thought he could pen some great songs that are just as memorable as the legends in blues? I must say that the guitar tone employed throughout this album is perhaps the most crisp I've ever heard summoned from a string instrument. Adding his own vocals as well as harmonica, Fetters puts yet another masterful notch on his talented belt of past albums. Perfect."
Review From Polish Blues DJ
author: Przemek DraheimYour new album is just what I like....music grabs the listener from the very first track and it doesn't want to let go! Great slide playing. I've heard you playing electric guitar and that was cool but when you play acoustic it's awesome! Just a man with a guitar on his knees - in such setting players really show what they are worth because they can't hide a single thing. Your voice and your guitar licks match perfectly.
