Album Notes

"Relaxed, sophisticated guitar compositions with sensitively written backing arrrangements. The music flows and inspires as it relaxes the listener."
Roy Whenary

Ideal for mood music and relaxing yet yet far more varied and sophisticated than the usual offerings in this genre. Fusing World, jazz, Latin and many other styles. For deeper relaxation music hear Pete's other release "Sea of Tranquility'.

Pete was recently commissioned by the UK National Health Service to produce a CD of music and voice for therapy and will be working closely with hypnotherapist Christine King and NS specialists in conditions such as Chronic Fatigue.

Those who hear it become confirmed fans of his highly melodic arrangements with great feel and depth.

Since recording this, Pete also went on to release Sea of Tranquility before forming the contemporary jazz fusion trio PD3, now performing as a quartet with legendary UK trumpet player Dick Pearce.

Biography by Gordon Moore
Pete Downes is one of those incredible talents that only surfaces once in a blue moon. Completely self taught, he is rapidly becoming one of Europe’s leading guitarists in the modern jazz fusion genre.

Already established on the jazz scene in the UK and Italy with a string of regular appearances culminating with a packed audience at Glastonbury Festival.

With influences that cover such a wide spectrum as Pat Metheny to Jimi Hendrix PD3's first album “Street Scene” caught the attention of Jazzwise, Jazz FM and critic praise from The Guardian, The Observer and many other Radio Stations and newspapers. The eagerly awaited follow up album “Into The Blue.” is a further step on the road to a wider audience. On this album PD3 blend their infectious original compositions with totally fresh and inspired versions of popular songs from the 70s to present day in a way that simply underlines the incredible versatility of the trio and the ease in which they can provide assessable jazz routed music to a much wider audience.
