The music of Webb Pierce caught his ear when he was a boy and instilled in him a craving to be a part of “that” country music. From the Peace River country of Alberta, Pete found country radio as his way to participate in the traditional country music that is still his passion.
From CFGP in Grande Prairie, Alberta to Peace River, Lloydminster and Saskatoon, to Wisconsin and Washington State and finally back to his home in Alberta where it all began, he has seen the evolution of country music but never wavered from his love of the original, traditional style.
“I was a part of a conversation once where someone commented a certain song was not very ‘country’ and another participant got his feathers all ruffled up and said ‘Well, define country!’ It was a strange request, but I thought that, by definition, as sure as apple nut cake had better have apples and nuts in it, country music by definition probably better include the instruments and sound that gave it it’s distinction; fiddle, steel, guitars and words that mean something, that tell a story, that touch you and can be understood.”
Pete spends a good deal of time traveling and touring with the “Alberta Legends of Country Music," a troupe dedicated to the preservation of traditional country music. He also hosts the immensely popular “Country Classics” show on CFCW radio (begun in 1994 and one of the first of it kind) and works middays on the station as well. This is his second album and the single "Home Is You" was top of the CW Canadian Chart for 8 weeks and has become a popular wedding song!

This is an album filled with good traditional country, no more or less.
Highligths are the cover of Dick Curless great "Tombstone Every Mile", "Face That Bed Alone" and "That Wasn't You".
Give Pete Hicks a try...he's worth it!
