another musical journey from Peter Ashby that seems to span ages and genres and yet is current, fresh and with it's own identity. Post modern prog, Canterbury scene played by Krautrockers, British jazz meets post punk. Thought provoking & genre defying.

Album Notes

Another musical journey from Peter Ashby that seems to span the ages of music yet remains current and fresh . Many styles and influences are evident here, but the result is a satisfying whole that delivers for the listener a complete experience, with different moods and emotions and some thought provoking moments along the way.

There is a strong electronic element in places, a definite post punk attitude and some avant-garde moments. Evidences of Canterbury scene influences such as Egg are very striking due to the presence of the Hammond Organ and mellotron. The organ led progressive element adds a new dimension to British jazz and avant garde nature of his previous offering "Disturbances in the ether" but it is mainly a melodic album with quite a strong use of synth. Perhaps a cross between Egg, very early Tangerine Dream and Faust with Rick Wakeman playing the synth or perhaps British Canterbury played by Krautrockers with some modern electronica thrown in. The rhythmic element is very Krautrock as is the odd splash of electronic pulses and noise. However don't be fooled by me scra, mbling for words from every conceivable comparison. This album definitely has an identity of it's own.
