Peter Betan, an accomplished Finger Style Guitarist as well as a Singer Songwriter,
displays his ability to write alive and passionate guitar instrumental music in this "Short Stories" release. Within the same styles of Michael Hedges, Ralph Towner and Leo Kotke, Peter Betan delivers and hits home. His intricate finger picking rhythms interwoven with beautiful melodies create a wonderful and memorable acoustical journey for the dedicated acoustic music listener. With the addition of the very talented Marc Berner on Flutes and Tenor Sax, plus the dynamically diversified Frank Carmelitano on additional Guitars, "Short Stories" strikes that universal music chord in all of us. Recently remastered at 24 bit, it's a great addition to any avid acoustic music lover's CD library.

Love the instrumental sequence-style guitar

I used to stop on way home from work in Coconut Grove in the 90's and listen to Peter Betan play. It was mesmerizing. I bought this cassette back then, but played it so much it fell apart, so I was happy to be able to find this mp3 version of the album to buy. I've heard him play again recently at the Fort Lauderdale monthly Riverwalk Sunday Jazz Brunch. He's more into singing now, which, sorry to say, I'm not as fond of -- I really love the hypnotic instrumental arpeggiated guitar. He did play a new instrumental song that day which I would love to have, alas, there is no mp3 for it here. All in all, excellent stuff, and I wish him the best.

My wife & I heard Peter when he & his early colleagues performed pieces from SS's on the street in Coconut Grove c.1992. I bought the cassette and SSs became an all-time favorite. Inventive & wonderful! Your re-mastering is wonderful. Bravo!

Transformed my evening and made me feel alive and creative.

On a walk, I heard this CD from a guy's car while he was detailing and waxing it. I had to have a copy, so asked him who it was, and he ended up giving it to me, I drove off and loved it more with each new song, let my roommate hear it and she bought a copy for herself and another friend. This CD is like one of those chain letters, because it is so incredible it keeps getting shown to others. It's the gift that keeps on giving!
