Los Angeles based jazz drummer, Peter Buck, announces the release of his debut CD as a leader and composer. “Buck’s Vibe” combines earthy, organic grooves with beautiful, thought provoking melodies performed by an incredible band featuring John Daversa (trumpet), Robby Marshall (tenor saxophone), Eli Brueggemann (piano), Edwin Livingston (bass), and Buck (drums).
His extensive career in the music business includes performances with Ice-T, Michelle Shocked, Fiachna O Braonain,Stevie Wonder, Keb’ Mo’, Thelma Houston, Bonnie Raitt, Joe Sample, Donny McCaslin, Maria Schneider, Jim McNeely, John O’Gallagher, and Russ Johnson.
Peter is currently touring with the great jazz and blues singer, Barbara Morrison. With his keen sense and expertise in music, he frequently gives performances and master classes at universities across the country with the Langston Hughes Project. His endorsements include Bosphorus Cymbals, Regal Tip Drumsticks, and Aquarian Drumheads.
Peter Buck earned his Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Berklee College of Music and his Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California.
For the past four years he has served as Head of Percussion at Cypress College.
