Here's the latest CD from Peter Davis and Lindy Hop Heaven, the all-star quintet from New York State. "Goin' to Lindy Land" follows their acclaimed debut CD, "Lindy Hop Heaven."

A favorite at swing and lindy hop camps and festivals, such as Swing Out New Hampshire, Beantown Lindy Hop Summer Camp and the San Francisco Swing Dance Festival, the band is known as a "dancer's band," possessing an uncanny ability to improvise music while interacting with the dancers, creating an intense symbiotic relationship.

"Goin' to Lindy Land" contains 16 tracks, with 5 originals. Here is the first review of the CD, by Manu Smith from yehoodi.com:

"Hi. This is Manu from Yehoodi.com. First let me say thank you for sending me a copy of your new CD. It's rare that I ever thank an artist for a CD, but I just had to let you know that your CD is AWESOME! It was such a thrill to listen to every track. The sound quality is great and the tunes are terrific. I played "Goin' to Lindy Land" three times in a row. This CD kicks. Great work guys... It's a winner."

Here is what renowned swing dance teacher Steven Mitchell has said about the band:

"Lindy Hop Heaven! The people's band! To swing to your music is like having a great conversation with each member of the band. You really bring the Music and the Dance together. Thank you Lindy Hop Heaven for letting us be a part of your music."

Bandleader Peter Davis from Saratoga Springs, NY, plays clarinet, sax and piano. An eclectic musician, he plays with Jay Ungar and Molly Mason and has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion for more than 20 live nationwide performances. He also plays with the worldbeat contradance band The Clayfoot Strutters and the traditional jazz band, Reggie's Red Hot Feetwarmers.

The band's incomparable drummer, George Reed of Corning, NY, is a 50-year music-business veteran, who has played, toured, or recorded with many well-known jazz and swing artists, including Tony Bennett, Erskine Hawkins, Marion McPartland, Joe Venuti, Buddy Tate, Henry Red Allen, Vic Dickenson, and Bobby Hacket. Growing up in Harlem in the 1930s, he had the opportunity to dance at the Savoy ballroom while swing music and lindy dancing were developing.

Cornetist Peter Ecklund of New York City is a regular at jazz festivals in the US and Canada. He performs often with the Orphan Newsboys, a swing quartet fronted by guitarist Marty Grosz, and has appeared with Woody Allen's band at Michael's Pub in Manhattan. He has recorded with David Bromberg, Bonnie Raitt, Maria Muldaur, Gregg Allman, Leon Redbone, Bob Dylan, and Jay Ungar among many others.

Dave Davies, guitar, trombone and vocals, is an amazing arranger, writer and singer, and bandleader of "The Hotfoot Club." Harry Aceto, plays that rock solid swing bass line that keeps perfect time. Harry and Dave are both from the Ithaca, NY area.

Our latest member is Tom Mitchell, from Baltimore, MD. Tom's the hardest swinging guitar player in the land! His other band is called the Blue Rhythm Boys.

The band plays at swing events all over the Northeast and provide an authentic and dynamic swing/small combo feel. Lindy Hop Heaven's repertoire is from the repertoires of Fats Waller, Benny Goodman, Stuff Smith, Johnny Hodges, Nat King Cole, Louis Jordan, Count Basie, Fats Domino, Jimmy Reed, and the Mills Brothers, among others.
