Album Notes

Peter McCarthy started playing Guitar at an early age, before long he was a busy musician playing around the New York Tri-State area in popular bands and freelancing as an in demand session guitarist.

Peter played in the group Liegelord and recorded with the band for their first album “Freedoms Rise” released on Metal Blade Records.
Performing live he has played on the same bill with acts such as Alan Holdsworth, Billy Sheehan’s band Talas, and Anthrax among others. Peter later replaced Steve Hillage as the Guitarist in the Clearlight Orchestra, in 2005 Peter played guitar on the groups CD "Infinite Symphony" and appeared with them at Progressive Rock festivals around the US and in Mexico.

Separate Pathways marks the first of McCarthy’s solo releases, it fuses his pop/rock roots and sensibilities with fiery guitar work. He is backed by Los Angeles area Bassist Matt Rodela and long time Los Lobos touring Drummer Victor Bisetti.

REVIEWS

Great vocals + great playing + great songs = Great album!

An album by a man with enormous guitar chops, but there's no showing-off: every note is tasteful and musical. Add on a great voice and this has to be one of the best rock albums in years. You'll find yourself singin' along with "Weight of the World". Some strong instrumental cuts also. Peter McCarthy nailed it!
