"The Second Album" has been in the works for three years. It contains a blending of compositions that relate to the core of our human condition, namely, the special bonds that we form in our lifetimes, the world of the innocents, the role of hope, the amazing feeling of love in our lives, and the light-hearted attitude so necessary for all of us. The lyrical poems that accompany each piece represent a collaborative effort between the composer and his sister. The poems, contained in a 32-page insert, are actually lyrics written for each of the songs.
Peter Pardine is a retired college professor living in Chicago. He wrote the score and lyrics for the off-Broadway musical, "How Fair" (Tuthill Productions, 1960), and he composed and arranged songs for his "First Album: Compositions for Piano and Other Musical Voices" (released in 2007, available at cdbaby). Due for release in the Fall, 2010, is his third album, "The Christmas Album: Compositions for the Holiday Season."
Peter's sister, Marilyn Pardine, is retired from office practice and serves as a physician for Pennsylvania school districts. She has published three books of poetry, and a book of love letters, poems, and short stories. Marilyn recently completed his first novel, "Her Journal."
